Our team of on-site trainers are growing as we encourage our staff and trainees to take advantage of available opportunities to study and be accredited for a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.

Tiga has over 30 years involvement in establishing and operating Aboriginal radio stations around the country. He is a strong and positive role-model for our Indigenous youth, and enjoys travelling to the remote communities training and inspiring young people to take control of their lives by gaining a qualification in radio broadcasting.
A highly experienced and accomplished radio presenter, Tiga has his own talkback program called 'Let's Talk' that is broadcast nationally via the National Indigenous Radio Service. Through this program, Tiga hopes to educate and inform the mainstream about current Indigenous issues and our achievements.

years, and has worked with 98.9fm (formerly 4AAA Murri Country) since
its establishment in the mid 90s. She is passionate about Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people, and really enjoys contributing to
their advancement and plight for autonomy.
She
is highly skilled in radio broadcasting and
loves travelling to the remote communities as Tiga's support and as a
trainer in her own right. She enjoys seeing Indigenous young people
become inspired by radio.

 Mike Scott (right) training two Kowanyama students Mike (or 'Scotty') has been with 98.9fm since the late 90,s and was instrumental in establishing the Station's training centre, and continues at the helm as the driving force behind its advancement into the exciting field of eLearning.
Mike is a visionary and has many goals for the Training Centre, including mentoring the centre's first Indigenous manager into his own position. While he passes on his repetoire of skills and knowledge, Mike will continue his role as Training Manager with a greater focus on remote training projects and remote travel for our remote training programs across the State.

Michelle has been with BIMA since November 2001 following the completion of her BA Journalism at QUT. She was one of the first students of Triple A Training, a few years before the RTO moved to its own premises on Level 6.
Since then Michelle has been youth show host & producer for 12 months, completed Certificate's III & IV in Broadcasting (Radio), attained a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace and Training and has gone from Training Admin Assistant to Training Centre Manager.
She has also received some prestigious awards for her 12-month stint as program producer and host of the Stations' youth program including National NAIDOC Apprentice of the Year 2002, and a finalist for the mainstream National Youth Media Awards as Young Indigenous Journalist of the Year.
Michelle is a passionate writer at heart, undertaking numerous freelancing positions during her working career, she has developed a great passion for the radio broadcasting industry and its value to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.

Michael started volunteering with the Station in 2004 and was soon employed part-time because of his commitment and impressive work ethic.
He has worked on the radio project Stayin Strong (see On-Site Projects) and played a vital role in one of the Station's key sales promotions by interviewing and producing ad's for the Telstra Road to Tamworth promotion.
In November 2005, Michael successfully completed his Cert IV in
Assessment and Workplace Training and is now a valuable member of our
training team.
He is now works as the Training Support Manager with Triple A Training
In September 2007 Michael was recognised as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student of the Year at the Queenland Training Awards
Michael hosts and produces a regular on-air program from 10am to 1pm during the week.

(Uncle) Peter Hill is the announcer for the Sunday night Request Show (7-9pm). Uncle Pete has worked at 98,9 FM for approximately 11 years. He is passionate about the community and enjoys visiting and broadcasting to Indigenous inmates in prisons around the Country. Uncle Pete completed a Certificate III in Broadcasting (Radio) in August 2004. In 2003, Peter completed a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training.
